On 8 July, 2019 The Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was presented by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in Lok Sabha. The bill looks for amend the Central Universities Act, 2019 which sets up universities for research and teaching in many states.
What is the provision of the bill
The Bill allows the establishment of two central universities in Andhra Pradesh to be called by the name “Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh and Central University of Andhra Pradesh”. The central Tribal University will take extra measures to offer higher research and educational facilities in the field such as culture, customs and tribal art mainly to the tribal population the nation.
Note:- The establishment of a Central Tribal University and Central University in the Andhra Pradesh is obligatory under the Andhra Pradesh (AP) Reorganisation Act, 2014.
