Administration vs. Management

Administration Process of working to achieved the agreed goals efficiently. The main work is to implement decisions.
  • Leader + Administrator
  • Their decisions are seen the decisions of the organization.
  • They also have to convince employees
  • Emotional intelligence is must.
  • Planning, co-ordination, direction to execution, evaluation etc.

Leaders, Administrator and Reformers

  • Those who formulate policies and initiate new
  • His authority is inherent in his position.
  • He is either appointed or elected or emerges from within a group.
  • He envisages missions, develops strategy, inspires people, and changes culture.
  • Leadership: Exercise high-level conceptual skills and decisiveness
  • Those who execute policies and implement decisions, utilizing the existing structure. (even if it is flawed)
  • The ability to influence is based on the formal authority inherent in their position.
  • A leader, and not an administrator, has the potential to change the country.
  • They are appointed (not elected generally).
  • Those who work to improve the policies and the existing structure.
  • He is neither appointed nor elected. This virtue emerges from within.
  • Types: Social reformers, Political reformers, Religious reformers, etc.

Values are the leading principles in our lives. Leadership crop up within the context of core values. Leaders guide and clear the way for others to make a positive difference in their own lives and contribute to a larger good. Values apprise the application of leadership qualities as the proficiency of leadership is activated – learned, developed, & practiced – within the set of core values. By concentrating on what people trust and value and then positively building on this understanding, we have the potential for impact far more wide-reaching than if we approached leadership development as a problem-solving activity.   • Service:
    As demonstrated by the commitment that extends beyond one’s own self-interest; personal humility for the sake of a greater cause.
  • Humility:
    As manifested by a sense of humbleness, dignity, and an awareness of one’s own limitations; open to perspectives different from one’s own.
  • Wisdom:
    As manifested by a broad understanding of human dynamics and the capability to balance the interests of multiple stakeholders when making decisions, it can take a long-term perspective in decision-making.
